Things to do

For those who love to exercise

Whether it’s running or walking there are lots of different routes for you to enjoy along the country lanes, footpaths and the towpath.

Great walking is available to all directly from the campsite gates and many more within a short journey.

If you enjoy cycling, we have a nice circular route from the site that goes to Wirswall Hill, cycling for an hour or so depending upon your fitness. We also have easy access to the National Cycle Route 45 (Chester to Salisbury) for those looking to cycle a bit further afield.

The canal offers you the ability to canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard or fish, subject to you having the correct licences. Please bring your equipment with you.

Alderford Lake and Cholmondeley Castle offer the opportunity for wild swimming or water sports in their lakes.

-The Llangollen Canal towpath is directly opposite the site with access via footpaths and over bridge.

-15 mins to the Bickerton Hills and the Sandstone Trail

-20 mins to Beeston Castle

-30 mins to Delamere Forest
